Patti Prunhuber

Litigation Director
J.D., Northeastern University School of Law (1984)
B.A., Middlebury College (1978)

Patti Prunhuber joined LACCM in September 2008 as the Litigation Director.  As Litigation Director, Patti supervises and coordinates LACCM's systemic litigation and litigates cases in both state and federal court.

Prior to joining LACCM, Patti worked as an attorney with the Hampshire-Franklin office of Western Massachusetts Legal Services for 23 years.  For the first part of her career, her practice concentrated on the rights of women on welfare, with a focus on access to education and training and the transition from welfare to work. She litigated many federal and state cases regarding welfare benefits and access to child care.  She has taught courses on Welfare Law at Northeastern Law School and Family Law at Smith College School of Social Work.

More recently, she initiated an employment law group within Western Massachusetts Legal Services, providing legal advice and representation to low income workers on wage and hour claims, unemployment insurance, family and medical leave and health insurance issues.  Her particular focus was on the legal rights of low-wage and/or immigrant workers. In the wake of recent workplace raids, she has been part of an immigrant workers' rights group that provides legal clinics and information to immigrant workers.  She chairs the Legal Services Employment Task Force and has taught a course on Labor and the Law at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst.

She serves on the Board of the Center for New Americans, a community-based, non-profit adult education center providing the immigrant and refugee communities of the Pioneer Valley with education, resources and community-building.

Patti is licensed to practice in Massachusetts, in the U.S. District Court of Massachusetts, and in the First Circuit Court of Appeals.
