On May 5, 2017 Iowa enacted HB 516, which establishes a non-strict non-photo ID requirement. It establishes five kinds of ID that are accepted which all include a photo, but additionally features a provision that requires the Secretary of State’s Office to offer existing lively registered voters that wouldn’t have one of the legitimate forms of ID with voter identification playing cards. Going ahead, county auditors will present newly registered voters who don’t have a sound ID with voter identification cards.
